Cambridge Sentenced For Endangerment

Terrence Ray Cambridge was sentenced for the charge of criminal endangerment during a hearing in district court on Wednesday, Jan. 11.

According to court records, deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Fifth Street East and Third Avenue East in Culbertson on July 11, 2022. The accident involved a red Chevrolet pickup and a black mini van. The female driver of the mini van said she was driving north on Third Avenue East and Cambridge was stopped facing west. As she crossed the intersection, Cambridge pulled out and hit her vehicle on the front passenger fender. At the time of the crash, she was pregnant and driving with minor children.

At the sentencing hearing, county attorney Frank Piocos said he talked with the victim about the plea agreement and she wasn’t seeking restitution. Both vehicles were insured.

The plea agreement called for a two-year deferred sentence and a fine of $1,000. Maximum penalties for criminal endangerment are 10 years in jail, a $50,000 fine or both.

Cambridge also received a suspended sentence of six months and a $600 fine for DUI.

“The bottom line is I don’t see anything that tells me a two-year deferred imposition isn’t appropriate,” District Judge David Cybulski said.
