Speech & Drama Travels To Shepherd

The Culbertson High School speech and drama team traveled to Shepherd over the weekend.

Culbertson coach Jeri Gustafson said the meet was large enough to intimidate.

“The meet was huge, with 44 AA, A, B, and C schools and 340 students competing in 17 events,” Gustafson said. “The competition was daunting to some, but it was also a great opportunity for students to see competitors and selections they hadn’t seen before. All of our students came away with great comments and saw improvements throughout the day. Most of our team competed against 25-30 students in their categories, making it extremely difficult to break into finals.”

Culbertson’s Trevor Green again placed first in informative speaking. Marissa Little-WhiteMan placed seventh in informative and Peyton Jahns placed seventh in mime.

The team’s next meet will be in Froid Dec. 10.
