Post Starts As New CEO For NEMHS Post Starts As New CEO For NEMHS

Michael Post, FACHE

After a nationwide search, the board of Northeast Montana Health Services selected Michael Post, FACHE as the new CEO of NEMHS. Peg Norgaard, after 42 years working with the organization, retired on Nov. 30, and Post took over on Dec. 1.

He joins NEMHS from Pennsylvania, and has a strong history in health care administration. Post belongs to ACHE (The American College of Healthcare Executives) and has a master degree in business administration. Post’s commitment to quality of care is demonstrated through his active credentialing as a licensed professional counselor. “I have worked in a variety of health care settings. All of my education has prepared me for this role and to accomplish the goals here at NEMHS.”

He visited Wolf Point and Poplar this past summer for his live interview with the CEO selection committee and got to meet a few community leaders. “On my initial visit to Northeast Montana, I witnessed a lot of people who are very passionate about their community and their jobs, and I am very excited to be a part of that,” Post said. He looks forward to the challenges that come with living and working in a rural community noting that “living in a rural community involves a lot of community partnerships, where in big cities those partnerships would otherwise be the competition. I look forward to being a part of established relationships as well as creating new ones” The president of the board of NEMHS says this about Post, “The board members and I are super excited to have Michael as the new CEO and look forward to working with him. We are thrilled to see how NEMHS can continue to provide excellent care and continue to bring more services to the community. We are very confident that Michael will be a good fit here in Northeast Montana.”

NEMHS appreciates and honors all of the hard work that outgoing CEO, Peg Norgaard, has been able to accomplish during her time here, and is looking forward to the future under the direction of Michael Post as the new CEO.
