Four Bear Excels With Art Projects

Wolf Point High School senior Audriana Four Bear impressed many area residents this fall with her outstanding oil painting of a buffalo.

Four Bear said the art work took her three months to complete. The finished project is 56 inches by 36 inches.

“I know that Native American Week was coming up, and I wanted to give myself time to work on it,” Four Bear said. “I wanted something to appeal to our area.”

Art is definitely her favorite class. Other larger projects have included a swan and a scene from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

When she was a sophomore, she earned third place in the Montana Congressional Art competition.

She explains that she started painting at a young age. Her grandmother in Wisconsin possessed a talent for producing paintings of animals.

“That definitely inspired my love for painting animals,” Four Bear said.

She added that her art teacher Vivian Schultz has also been an inspiration.

“She definitely pushes me and helps me with my art,” Four Bear noted.

Another favorite class is English under the instruction of Douglas Evans. She enjoys writing essays.

She is also glad to be a flier on Wolf Point’s cheer squad.

“I definitely like showing school spirit and being able to stunt with my teammates,” she said.

After high school, she will study nursing at Montana State University in Bozeman. She has taken CNA classes during the summer.

“I like helping people,” Four Bear explained. “It’s something that makes sense to me.”

She appreciates her education in Wolf Point.

“I like the community and the support from some teachers,” Four Bear said.
