Commissioners Approve County Road Resolutions

The Roosevelt County commissioners approved 17 resolutions to declare the existence of several county roads on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

The roads declared to be used by the public were 1000, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1006, 2043, 2044, 2045, 2049, 2054, 2057 and 45 North. All of the roads are north of Bainville.

Commissioners said the next public meeting to discuss the declaration of the existence of county roads is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 12 in Bainville.

The roads to be covered at that meeting are located south of Bainville.

During the public comment period of the meeting, Wolf Point resident Bill Juve discussed his concerns of new floodplain regulations. He feels the changes will be expensive and feels the government is intruding on the privacy of citizens.

Juve urged commissioners to contact property owners who could be impacted with the changes.

During a special administrative meeting, Vicky Boysun was hired to work in the clerk and recorder’s office.

A memorandum of understanding was agreed to between Roosevelt County and the Wolf Point Area Museum. Commissioners Gordon Oelkers said the agreement is that the county will continue to provide insurance on the two buildings. Oelkers said the only difference is that now the agreement is in writing.

Commissioners agreed to the transfer of Tiffany Greybear to the library.

Pay raises were approved for Anne Heller and Edith Yellowrobe of the aging department, Cam Burshia in the maintenance department, Kaigen Roskelley in the treasurer’s office, Gunner Green and Caleb Pendleton for the detention center and Janice Wemmer-Kegley in the clerk and recorder employee.
