Cambridge Changes Plea To Criminal Endangerment
Terrence Raye Cambridge changed his plea to two charges during a hearing in district court on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
After a plea agreement was reached, Cambridge made guilty pleas to the felony charge of criminal endangerment and the misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence, first offense.
Maximum penalties for criminal endangerment are 10 years in jail, a $50,000 fine or both.
According to court records, deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Fifth Street East and Third Avenue East in Culbertson on July 11. The accident involved a red Chevrolet pickup and a black mini van.
The female driver of the mini van said she was driving north on Third Avenue East and Cambridge was stopped facing west. As she crossed the intersection, Cambridge pulled out and hit her vehicle on the front passenger fender. At the time of the crash, she was pregnant and driving with minor children.
During the hearing, Cambridge said he was glad that no one was hurt in the crash. He admitted that he didnāt stop and was in a hurry to get out of town.
He said he drank eight cans of an alcoholic beverage that day.
District Judge David Cybulski ordered a pre-sentencing investigation.
