Consider Becoming Bus Driver For School

Although there are many full-time positions that the Wolf Point School District wishes it could find the right, quality employees for, area residents might consider a rewarding part-time position as an activity bus driver for the district.

Wolf Point, like many school districts through the state, is extremely low on its number of activity bus drivers. If this trend continues, it could force school officials to really be scrambling when it comes to having students travel for extra-curricular activities.

An unfortunate incident happened last week when Wolf Point High School’s band students were scheduled to spend the weekend at the University of Montana. The students were going to have the opportunity to learn from University of Montana students while sitting with them during the Griz football game and even being on the field at half-time.

The trip, however, needed to be canceled because of a shortage of bus drivers. It’s sad that these students, some who might be considering a career in the musical field, couldn’t take in this great learning opportunity.

That same weekend, volleyball coaches needed to drive vehicles so the Lady Wolves could compete in Harlem.

Winter months might even become more challenging with basketball, wrestling and speech/drama activities all taking place throughout our spacious state..

I’m sure school officials from throughout the state are trying to think outside of the box for possible solutions. Locally, I hope people, who have the time available, consider applying for this position to help our community. It’s definitely something that is really needed for Wolf Point’s students.
