Marchwick Faces Drug-Related Charges

Shaun Travis Marchwick of Culbertson is facing two drug related offenses. He is scheduled to make his initial appearance in district court on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

The charges are criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Bond was set at $100,000.

If convicted of the felony charge, Marchwick faces a maximum of five years in jail, a fine of $5,000 or both.

According to court documents, a traffic stop was made on Sept. 19, because Marchwick was failing to drive on the right side of the road on U.S. Highway 2 near mile marker 637.

The day before, a deputy was informed by another officer that Marchwick was on probation and spotted associating with known drug users.

On the request of a parole officer, a probation search of Marchwick’s vehicle was conducted. In the center console, a cut straw with one end partially burned was discovered. There was white residue found inside the straw. The residue tested positive for meth. The substance and straw were sent to the state lab for testing.
