agency. She was always there willing to help anyone who asked. She was the kind of person who thought of others, instead of herself. She loved quilting for relatives and friends. She attended elementary and high school in Brockton and received her high school diploma. She later worked for various tribal programs and spent the last few years of her life advocating on Indigenous issues, fighting for clean water, education equity and MMIW movement. She was compassionate and loved to quilt, play machines, advocate on Indigenous issues, cook for family gatherings and made sure everyone knew the family values. She is survived by her children, Carolyn, Matthew, Stacey, Stanley and Eugene; sister, Pauline Lewis; brothers, Curt, Stanley and David Lewis; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Longtree; grandson, Lawrence Crowe; son, Fred Crowe. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Poplar. Interment was at Riverside Catholic Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.

Lois Longtree, 74, died Wednesday Sept. 7, 2022, in Poplar.

She was born Aug. 17, 1948, to Gladys Jones Lewis and Stanley Crowe in Poplar. As the oldest, she would later welcome sister Pauline Lewis and brothers Stanley Crowe IV, Curt and David Lewis.

She married Dale Longtree in the 1970s. Throughout their years together, they loved and cherished their children, Stanley Paul, Carolyn, Eugene, Stacey, Matthew, Fred Crowe-Longtree. She devoted her time to helping and visiting her many relatives across the reservation, whether it was lobbying for her relatives or a friend in need at the Fort Peck Tribal Board or another community
