Explosion Investigated At Fort Peck Marina

At approximately 11:43 p.m. on Sept. 1, the Valley County Dispatch Center received a report of an explosion and subsequent fire in the area of the Fort Peck Marina. Valley County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and area volunteer fire departments were able to get the fire under control quickly. o one was injured in the blast but a camper and boat did sustain damage.

According to area media, deputies found a camper had been broken into as well. The apparent cause of the blast was a propane tank and an active fire pit.
