Fire Blotter Blister Fire: The Blister Fire burned approximately 3,400 acres on Highway 250 East over the course of four days. The fire initially started on Aug. 14 at 7:41 p.m. Four trucks and 10 firefighters were assisted by BIA and a county satellite truck. Firefighters were called back up on Aug. 15 at 5:36 p.m. WPVFD sent three trucks and six firefighters and were assisted by fire departments from Scobey, Poplar, Culbertson and Long Run, the BIA, DNRC, two airplanes and a helicopter. At 12:18 p.m. on Aug. 16, one truck and two firefighters responded to a flareup. Two firefighters responded again on Aug. 17 at 1:27 p.m. with one truck for another flareup.

Aug. 15: Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the Wolf Point High School at 10:12 a.m. No fire was found. A dirty sensor triggered the alarm. Command and two firefighters responded.

At 2:01 p.m., firefighters responded to a grass fire on Highway 250 with two trucks and four firefighters. One-half acre burned. One firefighter was standing by at the hall.

Aug. 16: At 8:04 p.m., one truck and two firefighters responded to a one-acre grass fire at King Cemetery.

Aug. 17: Two trucks and five firefighters responded to a CO2 alarm on the 900 block of Fourth Avenue North at 8:45 p.m. No gas was found in the residence.

Aug. 19: Firefighters assisted with a pedestrian vs. train incident near the Amtrak depot at 11:28 p.m.. One truck with two firefighters responded with three on standby at the hall.

Aug. 20: At 10:55 a.m., firefighters responded to a camp- er and grass fire on the 200 block of East Custer Street. Four trucks and seven firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze.

A grass fire burned 182 acres near mile marker 41 on Highway 250 before firefighters were able to extinguish it. Six WPVFD trucks and eight crew members responded and were assisted by BIA Fire Department, Long Run Fire Department, BIA-contracted crew and Department of Natural Resources fire crew members.

One truck and one firefighter assisted with a gas leak on the 300 block of Garfield Street until Montana-Dakota Utilities responded to turn off the gas. Long Run Fire Department assisted.

One truck with two firefighters responded to a rekindle on the 200 block of East Custer Street at 4:49 p.m.

Aug. 21: At 12:18 a.m., one truck and two firefighters responded to the 200 block of Edgar Street to a report of a gas smell.

Three trucks and six firefighters responded to a grass fire seven miles north on Windy Hill Road at 6:19 p.m. BIA, BIA-contracted crew and Long Run assisted in extinguishing the fire which burned 19.5 acres.

Aug. 22: A hay bale from the Aug. 21 Windy Hill fire reignited. One truck and two firefighters responded at 10:16 a.m.
