The wheat harvest has begun. Fires in the north Benrud area have taken hay lands.

The Lustre Grade School board met Aug. 19 and approved the budget for the coming 2022-2023 school year. Chairman Bob Schiller announced the teachers: Grades 1-2 are taught by Kathleen Damboise; grades 3-4, John DuBose; grades 5-6, Ligia Earley; and grades 7-8 will be taught by Jeanne Matthyser. There are no kindergarten students this year. The Lustre Christian High School dorm parents and the dorm council began receiving students on Sunday. School began for both schools on Aug. 24. The opening program was Sunday evening at the LCHS gymnasium at which time their teachers and students were introduced and welcomed to the community.
