The Roosevelt County 4-H Council added an individual and a business to its wall of fame on Friday, Aug. 12.

Angi Iverson announced the selections of Carol Hackley and Hometown Market prior to the livestock sale at the Roosevelt County Fair.

Hackey of rural Poplar has been active in Roosevelt County 4-H for 23 years including being a charter member of the Missouri River Rats 4-H Club. She shared her expertise as a project leader in dog, cat and goat with many 4-H families. She has made many dog treats and toys for the Wolf Point Pound Puppies.

Throughout the years, Hackley has served a president and vice president of the 4-H council. She has judged at area county fairs and served as the 4-H indoor superintendent during the fair. During club meetings, Hackley has instilled to 4-H members the importance of developing leadership skills and giving back to the community.

The Hometown Market, owned by Karla and Ken Forbregd, has supported 4-H leaders, members and parents by providing suggestions for events throughout the years including 4-H concessions, achievement days, club and leader meetings.

For nearly 30 years, Hometown Market has been a Culbertson Chamber of Commerce member. The business has worked with the people in the community to improve the quality of life and products for the people in the area. Hometown Market’s community-based commitment and effort help promote shopping local and supporting its town.
