Reds Take Third At Districts

The Glasgow Reds, which feature three players from Wolf Point High School, placed third at the Eastern A district baseball tournament during the weekend.

The Reds fell to the Billings Blue Jays, 12-2, in the opening round of the tournament. Having Glasgow’s two hits were Juliun Benson and Jack Kolstad.

The Reds bounced back with a 15-4 victory over Richland County on Friday, July 22.

Glasgow accounted for nine runs in the fourth inning in the win. Ranch Rhoads led Glasgow with four hits and five runs batted in.

JT Sprague, Benson and Kolstad each scored two runs against Richland County.

The Red stayed alive by nipping Glendive, 3-1, on Saturday, July 23. Sprague pitched the distance for the victory. He allowed only five hits and struck out four batters.

The Reds outscored the Billings Blue Jays by a 14-13 margin on Saturday, July 23. The Reds opened the game with eight runs in the top of the first inning. They added three runs in the fifth for a 14-9 advantage.

Benson pitched the last four and a third innings for the Reds to earn the victory.

Sprague and Benson each connected for three hits in the contest. Tatum Hansen and Mason Hunter each added three hits.

Benson led the squad with five runs batted in.

In a game to decide a state tournament berth, the Reds fell to Laurel, 11-1, on Sunday, July 24.

Sprague scored the Reds’ only run in the game. Benson finished with two hits.
