Henrickson Charged With Assault

Nolan James Hendrickson, 34, of Poplar made a plea of not guilty on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault of intimate partner by strangulation and assault resulting in serious bodily injury.

Henrickson made the plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge John T. Johnston on July 14.

If convicted of the most serious crime, Hendrickson faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. Hendrickson was detained pending further proceedings. The FBI, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office and Fort Peck Department of Law and Justice investigated the case.

According to court documents, Hendrickson intentionally assaulted a woman with a dangerous weapon, a hammer, with specific intent to commit bodily harm on March 16, in Poplar.

In addition, Hendrickson is also charged with intentionally assaulted a woman, an intimate partner, by strangling her on March 16.
