Hopa Mountain Retreat Accepting Applications

Hopa Mountain is now accepting applications for their Summer College Prep Retreat that will take place July 17-20 at Montana State University in Bozeman.

During this four-day retreat, students will participate in classes to learn about a diverse range of higher education and scholarship opportunities. Students also have the opportunity to live in the MSU dorms, though it is not required if they live in Bozeman or Livingston.

The retreat is free-ofcharge and meals will be provided for all participants.

Hopa Mountain’s Scholars of Promise program provides Montana high school sophomores and juniors with training, mentoring and support services to help them apply to and succeed at the colleges/universities of their choice.

Hopa Mountain offers three distinct Scholars of Promise programs: Indigenous Scholars of Promise (for Native American or Latinx students), Health Scholars of Promise (for students interested in earning a health-related degree), and Scholars of Promise (for students in foster care, kinship care, or who are homeless).

High school students must be accepted into one of the three Scholars programs in order to participate in the College Prep Retreat.

Hopa Mountain is a Bozeman-based non-profit that invests in rural and tribal citizen leaders, adults and youth, that are improving education, ecological health, and economic development (www.hopamountain.org).
