All roads led to the Lustre Grade School the evening of Dec. 9 as both LGS and Lustre Christian High School gave their programs to a full house. The 17-piece fifth- and sixth-grade band played “Deck the Holidays” (Romeyn), “A Celtic Christmas” (Wagner) and showed us their note reading skills in singing “O Come All Ye Faithful”, “I Heard The Bells on Christmas” and “Born, Born in Bethlehem” (D. Moore).

The kindergarten through fourth-grades sang “Jingle Bells”, “Light the Candles”, all the verses of “Joy to the World”, “White Christmas” “Deck the Halls” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

The third- and fourthgrade recorders played “Jolly Old Saint Nicholas,” “Hallelujah Chorus” (Handel), and “Ode to Joy” (Beethoven).

The first half of the program ended with “Not Even a Mouse” by Jerome Mc-Donough, put on by the fifththrough eighth-grade and starring Holly Hilkemann as “Annie” and Wheeler Damboise as “Andy.” It was directed by Rebecca Hyde and John Dubose. It was fully memorized, fun and well done.

The LCHS choir, led by Michael Butler, sang “Ding Dong! Merrily on High (Arr. Cable), “One Small Child” (Arr. Emerson) and “God Rest You Merry, Gentleman” (Arr. Kern). Meredith Reddig accompanied.

The girls’ duet of Hannah Marasco and Rachel Pew sang “A Christmas Soliloquy.”

The seventh- through 12thgrade band rounded out the program with three selections: “Jingle Bell Rock” (Arr. Edmondson), “A Christmas Collage” (Arr. D. Court) and “Hark! The Herald Trumpets Swing” (Mark Williams).
