Harling Named Employee Of The Quarter Harling Named Employee Of The Quarter

Rosevelt Medical Center has announced that Amy Harling, the facility’s social services director, has been nominated by staff as the newest Employee of the quarter.

Harling’s history with RMC began back in 1998 when she worked as an activity’s aide and then a certified nurse’s aide during high school until 2002. She returned in 2018 after being hired to join the business office but quickly was reassigned to her current management position.

“Helping the residents make the difficult decision and transition of moving into a long-term care facility is what inspires me to come to work every day. I want our residents and their families to settle into this life change with confidence and peace-ofmind,” Harling said. “I enjoy knowing I am a familiar face they recognize and feel comfortable turning to for help and guidance,” she added.

Harling is responsible for much of the behind the scenes work that helps find prospective residents and patients who could benefit from care at RMC. She is also an advocate for the residents and is responsible for keeping families informed of any changes at the facility as well as health status changes of residents. Through her committee work she also works on facility improvement projects that benefit both the residents and staff.

“Amy often has one of the most difficult jobs within the facility serving as the mediator between the facility and our patients as well as their families. Yet, no matter how busy she is, she is always willing to pitch in and help wherever it is needed,” said Karla Hunter, Director of Nursing.

Harling serves on committees, including the Prevention, Orientation, Survey and Safety Committees. She also assists with community events that help promote health awareness and has volunteered at every one of the Foundation’s fundraisers during her time at RMC.

“Amy always comes to work with a positive can-do attitude and works to keep moral high even when there are challenges,” said Jaimee Green, marketing and foundation director. While working full-time, Harling is also working toward her Master’s Degree in social work through Waldon University.

Staff will have until the end of December to make nominations for the next employee of the quarter. A new nomination committee will be selected at that time to ensure more staff and community members are able to have input in the decision-making process. This is an effort to keep the selection process balanced and fair.
