Grimm To Open Vet In Wolf Point

Wolf Point Pound Puppies devotee Dr. Heather Grimm is planning to open a veterinary clinic in Wolf Point at the old Steamboat Dry Goods location near the intersection with U.S. Highway 2 and Montana Highway 13.
Grimm told the Northern Plains Independent that she will be fully open sometime next year. Grimm said she will offer small animal medicine, dentistry and surgery.
“At this moment in time, I anticipate a mid-2022 fully open and operational clinic,” said Grimm. “In the meantime, I will be available for services such as vaccinations, wellness exams, large animal herd health medicine, equine lameness and dentistry.”
Grimm said she practiced in the area for seven years before beginning a search for a permanent location, eventually opening a clinic in Colstrip in 2019.
“I called northeast Montana home from November 2011 until mid 2018,” said Grimm. “In mid 2018, I left the region with a prospect of purchasing a veterinary clinic in southeast Montana. Unfortunately, those plans did not work out as anticipated. In 2019, I closed on a building in Colstrip that was converted into a mixedanimal veterinary clinic. The clinic was officially open in April 2020. Through this entire process, the Wolf Point Pound Puppies were a major supporter of my veterinary business and helped keep me operating.”
Despite a successful start in Colstrip, Grimm said she has been on the lookout for a location in the Wolf Point area.
“I am very pleased with the clinic in Colstrip, yet I have continued to have a deep desire to return back ‘home’ to northeast Montana. This last fall, I discovered that the Steamboat Dry Goods store was for sale. I have always admired this beautiful piece of property. I set out with the dream and the goal to make the property mine to convert into a veterinary clinic.”
Grimm said WPPP has been instrumental in helping her establish a practice in Wolf Point.
“The Wolf Point Pound Puppies played a pivotal role in inspiring me to start a second practice location in this area. I am very fortunate to participate in all of the wonderful work that WPPP performs in the area. I do believe that there will be some changes occurring as time moves forward. I plan on continuing to partner with WPPP and to support their missions and goals. Tina Betshismedicine is a true inspiration and hero from my perspective. I hope to help aid in and carry out the mission and work that she has set forth.”
Grimm said she will be hiring in the area.
