Nygard Earns Professional Accomplishments

Through hard work and dedication, Wolf Point Schools’ clerk and business manager Cheri’s Nygard recently was awarded for professional accomplishments.
Nygard, who has served as the school district’s clerk since 2011, earned certification through the Montana Association of School Business Officials. She received her plaque for the accomplishment during the Wolf Point School Board meeting in May.
To complete the program, she needed to pass tests for a business specialist certificate, standard certificate and professional certificate.
Nygard said the program took between two and three years to complete.
She has served as Region 3 director in the Montana Association of School Business Officials during the last three years.
“I feel as a director for the region, it was important,” Nygard said of earning the certification. “This is what I’ve made my profession and I wanted to pursue it.”
To reach the achievement, Nygard needed to attend and complete 120 hours of curriculum of coursework related to a position of district clerk/business manager; achieve at least a 70 percent on three tests designed to show proficiency in the subject areas of testing; and complete 120 hours of additional coursework.
Professional Level III is awarded after passing all three tests.
