Briscoe Charged With Possession Of Dangerous Drugs

Clifford Evan Briscoe has been arrested and charged in district court with criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

According to court documents, a Roosevelt County Sheriff’s deputy assisted Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice with a removal after receiving a call at 11:34 p.m. on Jan. 14. After arriving at the residence on BIA Route 14, the deputy sawtwowomenandBriscoe at the location. It was reported that one of the women got into an argument with Briscoe regarding money. Briscoe was told to leave the residence. When he didn’t do so, law enforcement got involved.

Law enforcement then searched the vehicle, which was owned by one of the women but was being used by Briscoe. The search discovered smoked roaches, a light bulb with black burn marks coated with a powdery substance inside, white zig-zag papers and a black pipe wrapped in black tape.

Briscoe was taken to the Roosevelt County Detention Center. An urine test resulted in positives for meth and marijuana.

Briscoe made not guilty pleas during his initial appearance in district court Tuesday, Jan. 26. An omnibus hearing was scheduled for Feb. 10. A trial is scheduled for April 15.
