Indians Compete In Miles City, Sidney

Poplar’s wrestlers continued their strong season with a meet in Sidney on Saturday, Jan. 16.

Earning two victories each were Gage Berg, Jacob Berger and Aries White Tail Feather.

Posting 1-1 records were Jazmin Gorder, Mitchell Youngman, Kameron Reum, Marcus Genia, Logan Boadle and Tyler Pribbernow.

“Wayne Dupree, Landon Young, Cameron Spottedbird continue to gain experience as freshmen,” Poplar Coach Jason Frederick said.

Poplar’s wrestlers battled two traditionally strong squads during duals held in Miles City on Thursday, Jan. 7.

Colstrip edged the Indians by a 33-28 final.

Scoring victories for Poplar were Jazmin Gorder, Jase Frederick, Mitchell Youngman, Logan Boadle and Jacob Berger.

“We lost our 152 match at the last second. That match would have given us the win over Colstrip,” Coach Frederick said. “It was very heartbreaking to our team.”

The Indians lost to Class A Miles City, 48-16. Poplar gave up four weight classes which results in 24 forfeit points.

Earning wins for Poplar were Gorder, Frederick, Boadle and Berger.
