Wolf Point Schools Offers Pandemic Meal Assistance, Deadline For Benefit July 17

Students enrolled in the Wolf Point School District are eligible for Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer program assistance, which will be issued through the Department of Public Health and Human Services.

Families can get both P-EBT and “grab and go” meals from schools and community organizations that are serving during the pandemic.

All children ages 5 to 18 who were enrolled in the Wolf Point School District as of March 18 qualify for this benefit (excluding PK students).

The P-EBT card works like a debit card to purchase food items anywhere EBT benefits are accepted. DPHHS will automatically provide this benefit to families on SNAP and is working with OPI and local school districts to obtain data from non-SNAP households who are eligible for P-EBT.

The benefit will be $5.70 per day for each student. Payments will be made retroactively back through the original date of COVID-related school closures in March. The benefit through the end of the 2019-2020 school year will be $330/child.

Families receiving SNAP will get the P-EBT benefit added to their existing EBT card.

To receive the benefit, non-SNAP households must sign and complete the “Parent/Guardian Consent to Release Eligibility Information” form and submit back to the school before Friday, July 17. Forms can be picked up at Albertsons, the city pool, Agland (East and West), the JH/HS building or the new district office across from Northside School.

Forms must be returned to the school nutrition director at the high school at 213 Sixth Ave. S. or to the district office at 400 Fallon St. by 4 p.m. Friday, July 17. Forms can be dropped off any time between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The consent forms are a requirement for non-SNAP households only. They state that you give consent for the district to share your information with DPHHS. If consent forms are not received, you will not receive the benefit.
