Commissioners Approve Fair Rehires, Pay Raise For Fyfe

The Roosevelt County Commissioners held their regular public meeting Tuesday, May 12. The meeting was held via conference call.

Fair department employees Britten VanGorder, Lindy VanGorder, Colton Spacht and Perla Burciaga were rehired. Plans for the fair are still developing in the face of COVID-19.

Commissioner Gordon Oelkers said, “The fair is going to look a little different this year.”

A six-month pay raise was approved for clerk and recorder employee Erica Fyfe.

The commissioners approved a letter of support for Nemont’s request for 911 grant funding.

A grant application was approved for 911/GIS improvements funding. The project timeline is three to four years.

The commissioners also approved a work plan for the DUI task force. Leader A.J. Allen said the plan was submitted annually.

Claims for May 7 were accepted in the amount of $201,133.56. Minutes were accepted for the May 5 public meeting and the month of April.
