Roosevelt County Aging Services is happy to report that we are able to continue to safely serve the older adults in our County during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even though we are not able to have group gatherings in our Senior Centers (Bainville, Culbertson, Froid and Wolf Point), our Congregate Meals continue to operate at all 5 meal sites (Bainville, Culbertson, Froid, Poplar (Buckhorn), and Wolf Point). All of the sites have changed from congregate meal gatherings to take-out meals. We have had a good response to this and are grateful to the cooks and our seniors for their willingness to adapt. Serving our meals as take-out will not change even as the Phase one and Phase two reopening is implemented.

We still have our homemakers serving the communities of Culbertson, Bainville, Froid, Wolf Point and Poplar. However, they are not currently providing their normal in-home services; instead, they are available to run errands and do phone checks for their clients. During Phase two, we will be assessing whether we are able to send homemakers back into the home safely.

Outreach is being done via handouts with meals, Facebook and articles such as this and will continue in this manner until we are able to re-congregate.

Roosevelt County Aging Services offices are still open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. We are still assisting people by phone or appointment. Appointments are limited to one person in the office at a time to allow for social distancing. We are here to assist with Medicare and Social Security enrollment along with answering and assisting with many non-Medicare questions or concerns.

We have truly missed having our seniors come to socialize, but our first priority has been and still is their safety and the safety of our staff. If you have any questions or concerns, contact aging services at 653-6221.
