As we all continue trying to adapt to a world that has changed drastically in the past few weeks, a reminder that the aging services department and staff are still open for business and available to provide most of the services we always have.
While the senior centers in Bainville, Culbertson, Froid and Wolf Point have been closed to the public to avoid the possible spread of COVID-19, our meal programs continue. Our accommodating cooks, Carol Rasmussen (with assistant Virginia McGinnis), Gloria Giese and Cindy Welch (with assistant Alyssa Pautsch) are still providing the usual noon meal at all of these centers, but on a take-out basis only. It can be a bit challenging to serve so many meals curbside, but in spite of the unconventional delivery system, itâs important to us to limit the disruption as much as possible for those using our services.
We do appreciate the patience and understanding people have shown as we try to find creative ways to provide the services our clients have come to rely on while keeping their health and that of our staff and community members forefront in our efforts.
Our in-home providers Pam Clark and Anne Heller continue to provide services to many of their usual clients at this time. These ladies work one-on-one and tend to develop close relationships with many of their clients and very often go that extra mile to address the varied and individual needs of each.
A few clients and/or family members prefer to avoid any outside contact right now due to significant or fragile health conditions and this is entirely understandable. These are uncertain times and we are all likely better off to err on the side of caution.
It is suggested that for the time being, people avoid gatherings and public places and this is especially true for older adults. If you have a need such as grocery shopping, mail or Rx pickup that we might be able to assist with during this time, contact our office at 653-6221. We may be able to help so that your outside exposure is as limited as possible.
If you have a Medicare or Social Security question or concern, including possible fraud or scams relating to the COVID-19 virus or you simply need information about resources available, contact Julie Bach or Shelli Isle at 653-6221. An appointment can be arranged to assist you. Since all county buildings are currently locked down, an appointment is required. Adequate measures will be taken to insure that social distancing protocol is followed and common surfaces are cleaned and sanitized for everyoneâs well-being. While we may be doing things a bit different than usual, aging services is open for business and ready to assist during this confusing and uncertain time.
