Froid/Lake Splits Weekend Action With MonDak

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks edged MonDak, 54-38,

Culbertson School Feb. 24: Chili, cinnamon rolls and corn.

Feb. 25: Chicken enchiladas, pineapple and churros.

Feb. 26: Breakfast for lunch.

Feb. 27: Chicken noodle soup, turkey sandwiches and cookie.

Feb. 28: Hot dogs, chips and mandarin oranges.

Froid School Feb. 24: Pulled pork on buns, baked beans, chips and fruit.

Feb. 25: Taco bravo w/hot cheese, taco bar, veggies and fruit.

Feb. 26: Hamburgers on buns, potato wedges, veggies, fruit and dessert.

Feb. 27: Pizza, lettuce mix and fruit.

Feb. 28: No school.

Bainville School Feb. 24: No school.

Feb. 25: Breakfast: Breakfast bars. Lunch: Spaghetti, garlic toast, Caesar salad and mixed fruit.

Feb. 26: Breakfast: Muffin bread. Lunch: Loaded chicken, baby bakers, green beans and peaches.

Feb. 27: Breakfast: Churros. Lunch: Vegetable beef soup, cheesy breadsticks and pears.

Feb. 28: Breakfast: Pancake breakfast sandwiches. Lunch: Tater tot hotdish, corn, pineapple and cheesecake.

in a key District 2C boys’ basketball contest on Saturday, Feb. 8.

Froid/Lake fell behind 12-9 in the first quarter, but took a 25-24 half-time advantage.

The Red Hawks struck for 13 points in the third quarter to increase the gap to 38-32. Froid/Lake then accounted for 15 points in the final period to earn the victory.

Top scorers for the Red Hawks were Colt Miller with 22 and Javonne Nesbit with 17 points. Also scoring were Mason Dethman with seven, Bode Miller with four and Connor Huft with four.

MonDak's top scorers were Adain Harin with 10 and Darian Holecek with eight points.

Despite a strong start, Froid/Lake’s girls lost to Mon-Dak by a 48-34 final on Saturday.

The Lady Red Hawks jumped out to a 10-2 advantage in the first quarter. Froid/ Lake enjoyed a 22-11 lead at intermission.

MonDak fought back with 24 points in the third quarter to earn a 35-28 advantage. The Thunder then added 13 points in the final period.

Sydney Dethman scored 15 to lead the Lady Red Hawks. Rounding out the scoring were Sydney Labatte with eight, Carolyne Christofferson with seven, Baylee Davidson with two and Meg Ator with two.

Leading MonDak were Jenna Rust with 19 and Elizabeth Field with 16 points.
