Two Compete At State Speech And Drama Meet

Wolf Point's Angelica Sutton and Daniel Sears traveled to Bigfork last weekend to compete in the state speech and drama tournament.

Through some tough competition, Sutton placed 11th in Lincoln Douglas Debate and Sears placed third in spontaneous oral interpretation. This gave Wolf Point enough points to place 14th in State B Speech out of about 30 teams.

Both competitors have stated that they will be back again next year.

Coach Wendy Connelley expressed her appreciation to everyone who supported the group. “Whether you came to judge at our meets, attended our showcase or liked the Facebook posts throughout the season, we felt you support,” Connelley said. “We also want to thank the schools and communities who hosted us this season and the other teams we competed against. We have shared a lot of laughs and have many stories to tell.”

Coach Jaronn Boysun's quote of the year summed up the season, “It isn't the trophies you bring home, but the friends you make.”
