Family Dollar To Open March 12, Additional Tenants Likely

According to Family Dollar spokesman Jim Van Slyke, the North Carolina-based chain store will hold a store opening at the old ShopKo location on U.S. Highway 2 in Wolf Point on March 12.

Van Slyke told the Northern Plains Independent that inventory at the new location will be similar to other Family Dollar stores.

“It will be 99 percent duplicative to other Family Dollar stores,” said Van Slyke. “Everything from frozen foods to fans to stereos to laundry, etc. A huge variety.”

Family Dollar currently has 20 stores in Montana. Apart from possible remolding efforts at a location in Billings, the chain doesn’t have any other store openings or improvements in the works for 2020 in Montana.

Van Slyke said plans to move into Wolf Point began to take shape in March of last year.

Slyke said that other tenants at the location are likely, but could provide no further details at press time.

Family Dollar will be open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, visit familydollar. com.
