Lustre Opens Basketball Season With Big Win Over Plevna
The Lustre Lions gained a 38-point advantage in the first half and cruised to a 75-28 victory over Plevna to start their boys’ basketball season on Friday, Dec. 6.
The Cougars kept things close at 6-3 during the game’s first three minutes, but the Lions then started to roll with a basket by Joel Reddig and a dunk by Johnslee Pierre.

Poplar Wrestlers Earn Championships At Eagle Invitational
Two Poplar wrestlers captured titles during the Eagle Invitational held in Sidney during the weekend.
Angelina Escarcega won the championship at 100 pounds. The senior pinned Huntley Project’s Gracie Bingen in 1:33 in the title match. Escarcega won two other matches at the meet.
Liberty Boadle earned the title at 105 pounds. Boadle pinned Glendive’s Brooklyn Ackerman in 1:07 for the title.
Lustre Girls Knock Off Plevna Squad
A strong third quarter highlighted action as Lustre’s girls’ basketball team downed Plevna, 53-45, on Friday, Dec. 6.
Ahead by a 27-19 half-time margin, the Lions accounted for the first 10 points of the third quarter. Hannah Brown hit a three-pointer to get Lustre off to a strong start in the half. Two baskets by Lauryn Holzrichter, a drive by Lauren Fast and a 15-footer by Sidney Klatt
