DPHHS Awarded Grant To Bolster Fraud Detection

Department of Public Health and Human Services director Charlie Brereton has announced the department was awarded $425,000 in federal funding to help improve the detection of waste, fraud and abuse involving public assistance programs. “Our administration will continue taking steps to verify that those receiving public assistance are in fact eligible for taxpayer-funded benefits,” Brereton said.

Lustre Boys Defeat Glasgow JVs

Lustre’s defense dominated action as the Lions stopped Glasgow’s JVs, 68-21, in boys’ basketball play on Saturday, Dec. 7. Lustre jumped out to a 20-3 lead in the first quarter and increased its advantage to 43--11 at the half. The Lions added 13 points in the third quarter for a 5615 lead. Top scorers for the Lions were Cam Reddig with 14, Johnslee Pierre with 13 and Prestyn Klatt

Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball squad split two games during the tip-off tournament held in Lewistown. The Wolves opened their season with a 53-35 victory over Red Lodge on Friday, Dec. 6. Wolf Point jumped out to an 11-7 lead in the first quarter as Keeley Blount-Henderson scored seven points. After leading 23-14 at the half, the Wolves struck for 15 points in the third quarter
