Carnival Returns To Stampede
Jeff Marn will serve as the announcer at this year’s Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede.
As a former contestant, Marn is the new generation of western sports announcers. Jeff and Cassidy live in Belt with their two beautiful children, Jett and Presley.
Marn was born and raised in Belt, He started riding bulls at a young age, and had a very successful career in the rodeo arena. He qualified
Clarence Fast Horse Sr.
Clarence “Chauncy” James Fast Horse Sr., 52, of Poplar died Wednesday, June 23, 2021.
He was born on Aug. 14, 1968, at Poplar Hospital to Melinda Shields and Michael Fast Horse Sr. He met Jamie Red Thunder and, to this union, five children were born.
He worked at A& S Industries, as a seismograph worker and as security at bingo. He loved bingo, going for rides, watching his sons play basketball and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Clarence “Sonny,” TeAira, Kaine Sr. and Kassius Fast Horse; 13 grandchildren; sisters, Michelene and Lucinda Fast Horse, both of Wolf Point; brothers, Michael Fast Horse Jr. of Wolf Point and John Fast Horse of Poplar; and adopted brother, Stacy “Space Man” Crow of Wolf Point.
Clarence was preceded in death by sisters, Cindy Greybull and Katerri Fast Horse; brothers, Gordon and Arnie Fast Horse; sons, Mathias “Whitey” Fast Horse and Anthony “AJ” Follette; and stepmother, Barbara Fast Horse.
His funeral service was held Saturday, July 3, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment followed at the Riverside Catholic Cemetery in Brockton. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.

Mycel Harry “Mikey” Young, “Thašúŋka Dúta,” Red Horse, 34, died June 26, 2021, at the Poplar Hospital.
He was born in Williston, N.D., on June 12, 1987, to Sarah Lou Three Stars and Orlando Moses Young Sr. He lived his life in Poplar. He attended Poplar Schools and graduated in 2006. He worked as a Fort Peck Tribes Juvenile Detention Center guard, Fort Peck Tribes Fish and Game warden, at Wolf Point Sand and Gravel, Fort Peck Tribes Office of Environmental Protection and as a fencing laborer.
He enjoyed playing basketball; dancing with his grandfather, Harry Three Stars, cruising around listening to music with his “kids” (his dogs); and joking around making everyone laugh. He was a gentle giant, enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his sister, Ashley Vondall; his baby, 'Rosie'; grandparents, Naomi Young, Juanita (Doug) Youngman, Louise Smith, and Beverly 'Shags' Bird.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Orlando Moses Young Jr.
His funeral was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment followed at the Poplar City Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements

Montana Bullfighter Harrell Returns To Stampede
Central Montana bullfighter J.D. Harrell will perform at the 2021 Wild Horse Stampede rodeo Thursday through Saturday, July 8-10.
His career as a bullfighter goes back to his time competing in high school rodeo in Roy, north of Lewistown, where he grew up and still lives. Harrell found that bullfighters were needed at high school rodeos. He would compete in the bullriding event, then go on to protect
