Brandon Big Leggins Sr., 39, of Wolf Point died Jan. 16, 2023. He was born May 5, 1983, in Williston, N.D., to. Garett I Big Leggins and Margaret F Big Leggins. He grew up in Poplar, where he graduated early from Poplar High School in 2002. He attended Fort Peck Community College, majoring in building trades with a dream of starting his own business in carpentry and home construction. Although he enjoyed working with his hands in the home construction field, he took on a job working for the Fort Peck Tribes water pipeline project and was the lead man laying water pipeline throughout the reservation. He attended every training opportunity he could and passed every test on the first try, becoming one of the first certified water treatment pipeline operators on the reservation. After illness and several injuries forced him to take on less physically demanding jobs, he began working as a CHR driver for the Fort Peck Tribes. He enjoyed visiting and traveling with patients to their medical appointments. He was a descendant of Assiniboine holy man Plenty Roads. Headman Reddog, Holy man Plenty Roads, and chief Soldier Kills Spotted Horse formed the basis of one of the powerful Canoe Paddlers bands of Nakoda before final settlement on the reservation. Landrea Josilyn Youngman, “Sna Sa CiKana Wiyan” (Little Red Blanket Woman), six, died Jan. 25, 2023, in Wolf Point. She was born to Loren J. (Cheppy) GreyBear-Youngman and Leiya J. Yazzie on Aug. 23, 2016. She attended Wolf Point Southside school. She and her twin brothers were kindergartners. She loved going to school — sick or not, she was going. She recently made student of the week and was progressing in school, passing her tests. She was very smart. She was very close to her siblings. Wherever the family went, people saw how well-mannered and close they were, always holding hands. She and her twin brothers are a year apart, and her family called them the “triplets.” She used to call her big sister, Lillianna, “Mama.” Later, she would become “Lil’ Mama” to her twin brothers. She kept them in line at school and made sure they behaved. She always included them in games, made sure they knew when it was time to eat and time to go. She and her siblings have nicknames — hers was “Waka.” She loved watching Minnie Mouse, plushies and playing dress up. She loved heels because of the sound they made. She also loved getting her nails and hair done.

Edith Alberta Bigleggins, “Little Door Woman”, 81, died Feb. 2, 2023, in Frazer. She was born Dec. 24, 1941, to Robert Welch and Beatrice Brown. She met Garret Joseph Bigleggins Sr. and they were married in July 1960. She lived on the west end of Frazer, but also lived in California for 10 years, where she did many things like picking strawberries. She moved back to Frazer where she resided until her death. She worked as a senior citizen cook, at Spotted Bull as an AA counselor and at the Glasgow Air Force Base as a sewer. Her favorite things to do were playing bingo, painting her nails and spending time with her grandchildren. She
