At the opening program of LCHS Sunday evening, Aug. 24, Principal Wes Young told the community, “We covet your prayers” as he opened his address. He read the school’s theme verse for this year, Psalm 1:3. “He shall be like a tree planted by rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither, and whatever he does shall prosper.”

Poplar Claims Team Titles At Season-Opening Meet
The Poplar Indians cruised to top honors in both the girls’ division and boys’ at the season-opening Wolf Point Invitational on Friday, Aug. 29.
Poplar’s girls finished with 18 points for the title. Top teams in the boys’ division were Poplar and Williston Trinity.

Wolves Run To Top 10 Showings At Home Meet
Two Wolf Point runners placed in the top 10 to highlight the Wolves’ efforts at the season-opening Wolf Point Invitational on Friday, Aug. 29.
Cali Gorder, an eighth-grader, finished in second place with a time of 22:31.59.
Cadence Bouldin, a sophomore, placed eighth at 24:30.55.
In the boys’ division, Wolf Point’s freshman Kayeiko Villaluz earned 19th place with a time of 21:32.78.
