It’s been nearly two weeks now with Roosevelt County reporting four or more active COVID-19 cases. As of press time, Roosevelt County had five current active cases. Per the governor’s July 15 directive, since Roosevelt County has four or more active COVID-19 cases, face masking in any indoor space, open to the public, is mandatory for people ages five years and older. As of press time Tuesday, July 28, the Roosevelt County Health Department was reporting four active cases of COVID-19 in the county, including at least one in their office. This increase “activiates” the governor’s mask mandate for Roosevelt County.

The Wolf Point Community Organization recently gave a $6,700 donation to the Wolf Point 100 Club, which the 100 Club used to purchase an automated pill counter requested by the pharmacy in Wolf Point that was almost $6,700 on the nose. WPCO’s Larry Wetsit contacted 100 Club members about a pending donation, which enabled the club to fund a pill counter recently purchased for the pharmacy. Club

Roosevelt County Library Offers Literacy Programs


Roosevelt County Library director Janet Livingston told the Northern Plains Independent that the summer reading program is nearly over. At press time, two weeks remain for participants to avail themselves of the group literacy effort. The remaining two packets are available online at the library’s website. Beginning in September, the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program will be launching.
