Students Gain Knowledge During Children’s Theatre

Nearly 50 young actors and actresses took part in this year’s Missoula Children’s Theatre production in Wolf Point last week. Funds from the Wolf Point Education Association along with local donations make the program available in the community. Local donors included the Wolf Point Optimist Club, Patricia and John Toavs, Wolf Point junior/ senior concessions and the Wolf Point community.

Nygard Earns Professional Accomplishments

Through hard work and dedication, Wolf Point Schools’ clerk and business manager Cheri’s Nygard recently was awarded for professional accomplishments. Nygard, who has served as the school district’s clerk since 2011, earned certification through the Montana Association of School Business Officials. She received her plaque for the accomplishment during the Wolf Point School Board meeting

The Wolf Point City Council held their regular meeting Monday, May 17. Tori Matejovsky from Great Northern Development Corporation addressed the council via Zoom. She said her organization has been helping businesses manage the Payroll Protection Program, which is winding up. She said there is very little money left in the program but added that some credit unions have funds remaining. Interested

Gas Prices Increase Slightly In State During Week

Montana gas prices have risen 1.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.88/g on Monday, May 17, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 615 stations in Montana. Gas prices in Montana are 13.4 cents per gallon higher than a month ago and stand $1.17/g higher than a year ago. Tester Secures $50 Million In Funds To Prevent Foreclosures

Jon Tester, D-Mont., has secured $50 million in Housing Assistance Fund investments through the American Rescue Plan to provide relief to Montana homeowners experiencing financial hardship as a result of the pandemic. Wolf Point Artists Win State Awards

Two Wolf Point students have gained recognition for their art work. Wolf Point High School freshman Adeia Erickson earned second place and sophomore Audriana Fourbear captured third place in the this year’s Montana Congressional Art competition. The students received a phone call from U.S. Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-Mont., to congratulate them and ask the students about their inspirations.
