Brockton Runners Finish At Wolf Point Invitational
Brockton’s BraeLynn De-Marrias and Miles Boxer Jr. each accounted for strong meets at the Wolf Point Invitational held on Friday, Aug. 29.
DeMarrias, a sophomore, finished fourth in the girls’ division with a time of 23:35.38. Boxer, a senior, placed sixth in the boys’ division with a time of 19:13.40.
Also in the boys’ division, freshman Daniel Segubiense earned 35th place at 23:18.27.
Warriors Drop First Football Game Of Season
Froid/Lake and Brockton started their football seasons with a six-man battle in Medicine Lake on Saturday, Aug. 30. The Red Hawks emerged with a 54-13 conference victory.
The Red Hawks accounted for the game’s first big play when Owen Logan recovered a fumble at the Brockton 19. Froid/Lake reached the end zone on a nine-yard pass from Rylan Young to Cody Olson.

Lions Compete At Tourney
The Lustre Lions had a promising start to their season at the Culbertson volleyball invitational on Saturday, Aug. 30.
After dropping matches against Culbertson and Fairview in pool play, the Lions bounced back with a straight set victory over Nashua.
The Lions trailed 13-12 in the first set, but Lustre responded with a 25-22 victory.

Wolves Open Volleyball Season
Wolf Point’s volleyball team opened its season at a tournament in Shelby and Choteau during the weekend.
During the first round of action, the Wolves defeated Simms, 21-20, 21-19. Firstround losses came against Ennis, Shelby and Manhattan.
The Wolves earned victories over Havre’s JVs, 21-19, 21-18, Cut Bank, 21-18, 21-16, and Lodge Grass, 21-11, 21-10, during second-round action.
