Five players from the state champion Froid/Lake Red Hawks have been selected to the Class C six-man All-State team. Voted to the squad were senior Brett Stentoft, senior Ashdyn Hobbs, senior Connor Huft, senior Javonne Nesbit and sophomore Mason Dethman. A big second half led Froid/Lake over Bainville, 4231, in girls’ basketball action on Saturday, Dec. 4. Trailing by a 16-11 halftime margin, the Red Hawks struck for 17 points in the third quarter to grab a 2823 advantage. Bainville’s boys’ basketball squad earned a 67-37 season- opening victory over Brockton on Friday, Dec. 3. The Bulldogs led by a 35-19 half-time margin en route to the home win. The Froid/Lake Red Hawks scored 22 second-quarter points and downed Bainville, 76-57, on Saturday, Dec. 4. After leading by a 16-13 margin at the end of the first quarter, the Red Hawks increased the gap to 38-23 at the half.
