The Culbertson School Board approved resolutions of intent to impose levies during its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 19. Trustee Wendy Becker made the motion to approve the resolution of intent to impose an increase on levies for the Culbertson Elementary’s transportation fund by $50,589 or 5.11 mills and the adult education fund by $456 or .05 mills for the 2024-2025 budgets. There will be a primary election for two non-partisan primary elections in Roosevelt County on June 4. Both the county attorney and District II county commissioner races feature three candidates. According to Montana statute, a primary isn’t required if there are three or less candidates for a position, but the governing body may require that a primary election be held if it passes a resolution

The Roosevelt County Sheriffs Office responded to 49 calls from March 18-25. March 18 Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice with a report of an adult male threatening a female with a machete. Law enforcement searched the area and didn’t find the male. Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department with a report of a male and female arguing on Idaho Street.
