Roosevelt County’s economy is now improving, according to the Montana Department of Labor and Industry. At the end of August, the county sat in a tie for 49th place for unemployment rates in Montana with a rate of 4.4 percent. Great Northern Development Corporation has announced that it has been awarded a $550,000 grant from the U.S. Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund as part of the CDFI Financial Assistance program. This grant will bolster GNDC’s efforts to provide critical lending services to small businesses across northeastern Montana. The CDFI Fund’s Financial Assistance program
