Residents Urged To Shop Small On Nov. 27
American Express has announced its 12th annual Small Business Saturday, which will take place Nov. 27. The campaign, part of the company’s goal to drive $100 billion in reported consumer spending at small businesses from 2021 through 2025, features a series of initiatives to drive consumers to Shop Small during the holiday season, including:

American Express has announced its 12th annual Small Business Saturday, which will take place Nov. 27. Food Sovereignty Day Set For Dec. 2
The Fort Peck Tribes will have its Food Sovereignty Day from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2, in the Greet the Dawn Auditorium at the Fort Peck Community College in Poplar.
The day will feature the documentary film, “Gather,” which depicts the growing movement amongst Native Americans to reclaim identity through food.
Lunch and dinner will be served. The day will include art vendors,

CWD Sample Numbers Up From Previous Years
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks staff is on pace to collect a record number of chronic wasting disease samples from deer, elk and moose this year.
Between July 1 and Nov. 12, FWP staff collected 3,147 CWD samples, of which 1,613 were from the 2021 priority sampling areas located in northwestern, northcentral, southwestern and southcentral Montana. This is above last year’s 2,966 collected

State’s Unemployment Rate Drops To 3.1 Percent
Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte has announced the number of employed Montanans hit an all-time high in October as Montana’s unemployment rate fell to 3.1 percent, a low achieved only six times over the last 45 years, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Total employment grew by nearly 2,400 jobs while the labor force expanded by nearly 1,200 workers.
