Vincent Benjamin Putman made not guilty pleas to three charges during his initial appearance in district court on Tuesday, Aug. 24. Putman is facing the charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct. If convicted of the felony possession of dangerous drugs charge, Putnam faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

President Joe Biden’s administration has approved an increase in the levels of food aid available to needy families. It marks the largest single increase in the program’s history. Average benefits for food stamps will increase by more than 25 percent starting in October above pre-pandemic levels.
