Darlene F Fourstar, 82, of Billings died June 27, 2025. Born to Fred E. and Mavis M. (Wilkie) Parisien on Jan. 25, 1943, in Belcourt, N.D., she was the second oldest of 12 children. She grew up in North Dakota, attended school in Wahpeton, N.D., and Chamberlain, S.D., and finally settled in Montana in the early 1960s. She resided in Wolf Point for many years and, after her husband’s death, she finished out her years in Billings. Some of her hobbies included sewing and quilting, which she took great pride in and always had a few extras for any and all occasions. Ronald Carroll Christensen, 84, of Dagmar, died Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home in Plentywood. He was born June 16, 1941, to Ray and Millie Christensen (Rasmussen) in Williston, N.D. They brought him home to the farm in Dagmar, where he was later joined by brother, Richard, and sister, Lila. He attended a country school for elementary education then went to Grenora, N.D., for high school. There, he was a member of a car club he helped organize called The Aces. He and his friends loved working on cars and singing to popular music of the day, by singers like Jim Reeves and Tex Ritter. He was a proud veteran, having been drafted into the Army in the early ‘60s. As part of his service, he deployed to South Carolina for riot control during the Martin Luther King Jr. marches. He also served in special forces, working with heavy equipment and the chemical Agent Orange. While home on leave from the Army, he went on a blind date with Patricia Ann Rockstad. After returning to his station, the two wrote letters back and forth. In one letter, he told Pat he bought her a ring. In the next letter, he told her he sold the ring and bought a car. Despite the first ring having been sold, the two married in September 1965. Soon after, they welcomed a son, Robert. Two and a half years later, Roger was born, followed by another son, Rodney, then another, Russell. They moved their boys to the family farm in rural Dagmar in 1974. He worked for the Sheridan County Road Department and Big M Trucking. Later, he and Pat started a roustabout company called C& L Tank. The oil industry dried up and farming got tougher so, in 1988, He went to central Nevada to work in a mine. Pat soon followed and they spent the next 20 years in Elko, Nev. They retired to the farm in 2011, going back to their agricultural roots and raising beef cows with Russell and his wife, Mandy. He enjoyed haying and calving, but he was especially fond of the vast amounts of lawn mowing to be done. Between the lawn mower and his Gator, there was no inch of the farm he didn’t drive over during his later years. He was proceeded in death by an infant sister; and two infant great-grandchildren. He is survived by wife, Pat of Dagmar; sons, Robert Christensen of Dagmar, Roger Christensen of Froid, Rodney Christensen of Dagmar and Russell Christensen of Dagmar, 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Richard Christensen and Lila Baker. At his requested, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a late date.

Jeffrey Ricker, 53, died June 29, 2025, in Billings. A wake will be held Thursday, July 10, at the Wolf Point Community Hall at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 11, at 10 a.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Tracy Hentges, 61, of Oswego died Saturday, July 5, 2025. A wake will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at the Frazer Community Hall. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at the Frazer Community Hall with cremation to follow. Rich E Miller, 76, of Terry, Mont., died suddenly June 13, 2025. Rich, a father, grandfather and great-grandfather, was born in Wolf Point, Mont., on Nov. 18, 1948, to Lynn and Thelma (Wilson) Miller. Rich grew up in Wolf Point, graduating from high school there in 1966. Soon afterward, Rich enlisted in the U.S. Army. After training in helicopter maintenance at Fort Eustis, Va., he deployed to Vietnam soon after Christmas that year. Assigned to the 498th Medical Air Ambulance Company, Rich served as a crew chief, earning a Bronze Star with “V” device, the Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, and the Air Medal with “V” device and four oakleaf clusters. In September 2024, Congress and the president awarded a Gold Medal to “Dustoff” pilots, crew chiefs, and medics who “served honorably during the Vietnam War aboard helicopter air ambulances.” Rich returned stateside in January 1968, serving out the remainder of his enlistment at Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia. There, he met and married Sharon Brown. Although the union did not last, it did result in the birth of their beloved daughter, Nicole Hope. Leaving the Army in 1969, Rich returned to Montana and attended the University of Montana, earning a BA in political science in 1973. Rich and Sharon then returned to Georgia, where daughter Nicole was born in May 1973. Rich worked for the Southern Railway until 1975, returning to Montana to assist in the family business, Lynn’s Bar in Helena, later that year. He began a long association with the Montana gaming industry in 1982, eventually becoming executive director of Montana’s Gaming Industry Association (GIA). Rich enjoyed a broad array of experiences. Anna Louise “Peewee” Martell Syverson, 81, died June 23, 2025, at Billings Clinic Hospital. She was born on June 26, 1943, in Blair. She made her home in Culbertson, where she built a life full of love, laughter and hard work. She was the mother of Julie Finsaas Trudell and Rhonda Erickson, with whom she shared a unique and lasting bond. She especially enjoyed road-tripping with her daughters and spending long, meaningful phone calls — moments that brought her real joy. When she married Kenny Syverson, she welcomed five bonus children — Kent, Kevin, Kyle, Debbie and Pam Syverson — into her life. Her greatest joy was her family. A true jack-of-all-trades, she worked countless jobs throughout her life: waitressing, painting, cleaning and even roofing alongside her husband. There was no task too big or too small — she never turned down a job and was admired for her tireless work ethic and fierce determination. She had a wicked sense of humor, a radiant smile and a laugh that could light up any room. She never wanted to miss a thing — her energy was boundless and she greeted life with open arms.
