Laurie K. Anderson, 67, of Waldport, Ore., died in her sleep on June 16, 2024. She was born Nov. 20, 1956, in Wolf Point to Robert K. and Wanda Dorrayne Anderson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Craig. She is survived by her brother, Richard. Her true passion in life was her pet-sitting. Graveside services were held in Wolf Point at Greenwood

Margaret H. “Muggs” Brunelle, 83, of Wolf Point died June 29, 2024, at her home. She was born April 17, 1941, to Agnes and Fritz Eide of Vining, Minn. She attended Poplar High School. Afterwards, she worked at the Whitestar Laundry, TipTop Motel and Ben Franklin, where she later retired from. She married Kenny Brunelle on July 29, 1961, They had three children, David Brunelle, Kenny Brunelle and Rachel Stump. She was known for her feisty sense of humor and she loved to joke and tease and have a good laugh. She cherished every opportunity she had with her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting afghans for her family and especially her grocery store runs with Rachel and Marissa. She cherished every moment she had with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, David, Kenny and Rachel; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny; sisters, Corrine and Mary; and brothers, Butch and Arnold. Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, July 9, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. Interment followed at the Greenwood Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.

Orlando Hale

Orlando Hale


Orlando Joshua Hale, 26, of Poplar died June 29, 2024, at Poplar Community Hospital. He was born Nov. 23, 1998 June 29, 2024, to Mavis Hernandez and Eugene Hale Jr. His Indian name, Little Thunder Walking, was given to him by his uncle Chad Hernandez. He was raised in Billings, Poplar and Wolf Point. He enjoyed horseshoes which he became a pro. He graduated Poplar High School, then worked at the Fort Peck Community College and attended classes there. He also worked at Family Dollar. He loved to read books, play Super Smash Bros with the bros, enjoyed BBQs, powwows, fishing, walking and listening to music. He was adopted by his grandmother, Mavis Hernandez. He is survived by his mother, Margaret (Ron) Starr; siblings, Damon Menz, Artie Crazy Bull Menz, Lance, Mason, Karmen, Mabel, Jessi Menz, all of Poplar; papa, Keith (Sadie) Olson Sr. of Poplar; and grandfather, Eugene Hale Sr. of North Dakota. His funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment followed at the Poplar City Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel of Wolf Point was entrusted with the arrangements.

Susan Davis

Susan Davis


Susan Joyce Leddige Davis, 54, of Wolf Point died June 21, 2024. She was born on Sept. 21, 1970, to Dean and JoAnne Leddige. She graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1989 where she excelled in volleyball and track and field. Though she spent the majority of her life on the rolling plains near Wolf Point, her adventurous spirit led her to join the Navy where she visited far off places including the Philippines. An exceptional chef, she was known for her delicious recipes and always brought the most sought-after dish to the community picnic. She also had a strong sense of service, exemplified by her military work, her community activism through the Optimist Club and work in the school district.

Theodore Ricker

Theodore Ricker


Theodore “Teddy” Ricker, 49, of Poplar died June 26, 2024. He was born on Dec. 5, 1974, to Gloria Chopper and Harry Ricker. He played basketball and football for Poplar High School and graduated from Poplar in 1992. After high school, he made a career in firefighting, construction, mechanics and concrete work. He was known for his great sense of humor. He loved to tease and joke around and cherished every opportunity to laugh with his family and friends. His children were his pride and joy. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play basketball, fishing, picking turnips, cruising around and visiting with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Marta Jones; mother, Gloria Chopper; adopted mom, Wyma Goes Head; children, Tiona and Theada Jones, Theodore Jr., Tyrus, Camryn and Kolby Ricker; step children,
