Clay Garrett Nygaard, 30, of Wolf Point went home to our Lord and Savior on the 19th of June, 2024, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. His family is heartbroken and devastated over the loss of such a hard-working, loving, sweet, kindhearted soul. Clay was born May 2nd, 1994m to Cheryl Lee Culbertson and Raymond P. Nygaard. From a young age, he was a dyed-in-the-wool cowboy. He grew up on a farm on the Beck Ranch riding horse and moving cows. At the tender age of two, he was bucked off a horse, dusted himself off and got right back on. He had a cowboy’s work ethic too, always lending a helping hand, feeding animals and doing chores around the farm and helping the community with their brandings. Being from Wolf Point, Clay was a natural outdoorsman. His passions were hunting and fishing, starting with gopher hunting, and eventually growing into buck and coyote hunting. He also loved listening to music, working on his truck, and most of all spending time with his son, Toby. On August 21st, 2013, Clay Nygaard and Selena Agosto brought Toby Garrett Nygaard into this world. Toby was Clay’s pride and joy. There was nothing that could come between the two of them. Inseparable, they never spent a day apart, and Clay ensured he taught Toby how to hunt and fish and everything that entails being a man. In Clay’s last couple of years, he moved to Scobey and started to work with his brother Tyler in construction. In this work, he found another passion in helping build someone’s dream into reality. Andrew Brien was born Feb. 6, 1936, in Belcourt, N.D., to Gregory and Mary (La Rocque) Brien. He passed away peacefully on Nov. 27, 2023, at home in Glendale, Calif. Andy was raised in Wolf Point, Mont. He attended Marty Indian Catholic Boarding School and Wolf Point High School. He enjoyed playing football while in high school and still holds the record of 28 tackles in one game. Andy joined the Navy in 1958 and was honorably discharged on Sept. 30, 1962. Andy stayed in California where he met the love of his life, Phyllis, whom he was married to for over 64 years. They had a son, Clyde, on June 1, 1965. After 25 years of service with the Hostess Baking Company, he retired. Andy was a very kind and generous soul, with a great sense of humor and a jovial nature that brightened the day of everyone he met. He genuinely liked people and put them at ease immediately. He will be missed by many people whose lives he touched in his 87 years. Glenn Jay Friesen, age 70, of Tucson, Ariz., passed away Friday, June 14, 2024. He was born June 12, 1954 in Wolf Point, Mont., to Henry and Rose Friesen. Glenn completed high school in Frazer, Mont. During his tenure there, he broke a Montana State record for cross country. He attended Montana State University - Bozeman, Mont., for a while and, while he did not earn a degree, he maintained friendships with four friends that lasted his lifetime. He enlisted in the Army for four years, spent some time in Germany and earned a National Defense Service Medal - Sharpshooter M-16. He was an avid bowler, achieving four perfect 300 games and participating in several leagues, forming lifelong friendships. In his younger years, he also enjoyed playing golf. He also had a passion for the Celtics and the Kansas City Chiefs. He was also active in church activities. Glenn was an honest, God-fearing, hardworking and fun-loving individual. His smile would light up the room. Glenn had a successful career working in various fields including oil refinery, bartending, stockyards, Salvation Army for 14 years and Christies Appliance for 14 years, then park maintenance for five years. Glenn is survived by his sisters, Betsy Adams (Cecil Chesser), Jackie (Jerry) Handran, Denise (Tommy) Green and Carol Grigg; and brother,

Kathy J. Redekopp passed away on June 18, 2024, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, N.D. She was born to Jean and Vernon W. Hicks in Seattle, Wash., on May 27, 1945, and was the youngest of two children. She graduated from high school in Edmonds, Wash., in 1963, and married Steven D. Redekopp in Edmonds on April 29, 1966. They lived together on Steve’s family’s farm west of Wolf Point until the time of his passing in 2023. She then moved to Minot, N.D., where her son Jeff and his wife, Jill, reside. In addition to being a very busy farm wife and mother, Kathy loved taking care of her yard and flowers, and enjoyed gardening. She was also highly creative — she excelled at a variety of crafts, including her many decorative painting

Peter Michael Lenz, 82, of Taber, Alberta, Canada, died Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was born Aug. 29, 1941, in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. He lived in Great Falls until he was 13 years, after which his family moved to Wolf Point. He graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1959. He married June in May 1965, then moved north to Barhead, Alberta, Canada, to begin his teaching career. He and June settled in Taber in 1968, where he enjoyed a vital and full life. He cherished the moments spent with June, including their memorable trip to eastern Canada, where he revisited his birthplace, St. John’s, Newfoundland. A dedicated educator, he taught at WR Myers, St. Mary’s and later brought that same dedication to the MD Park, leaving a lasting impact on countless students and visitors. Known for his remarkable ability to remember faces, he was a cherished figure in the community and church. He was always ready to lend a helping hand or embark on an adventure, such as picking up an army truck with an old friend. His curiosity knew no bounds and he approached life with an open, non-judgmental mind. He was an avid reader and conversationalist, always ready to engage in a discussion. His childlike curiosity

Susan Joyce Davis, 54, of Wolf Point died June 21, 2024. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 1, at 2 p.m. at the Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
