David Nedrud

David Nedrud


David H. Nedrud, 68, of Pocatello, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 13, 2021, at his home after a fiveyear battle with health related issues. David was born in Miles City, Mont., to Vincent and Lillian Nedrud, and grew up and graduated from Wolf Point (Mont.) High School in 1971. As much as Vince tugged on the chain, sometimes an angel needs to spread its wings. If you ask any of his “boys,” Mick, Bill, Dave and Dennis, the party didn’t start until “Ned” showed up. After high school, David studied, a good time, at Montana State University - Northern in Havre, Mont. David was a man of many colors. Early in his career, David was a long-haul trucker and worked in the oil fields of Montana and North Dakota. He also spent time helping to harvest grain. In the 1980s, David worked with his brother Don Nedrud in Bozeman, Mont., abating asbestos in old buildings. While there in 1990, he met his life partner, Virginia Larson, where they managed an environmental remediation company for the past 31 years. In his spare time, David loved all-things H 2 O. Whether that was swimming in his community pool, or spending time with his family in sunny Oceanside (Calif.), David was at peace in and around the water. He also enjoyed those times he and Virginia could travel on the beloved Harley Davidson. David was generous to those around him. He was a loving partner to his spouse, Virginia, and a giving father to his children, Mike and Jessica. His life was a living example of his favorite Bible verse, Psalm 27:12: “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” David is survived by his wife, Virginia of Pocatello, Idaho; his son, Michael (Kelly) Severson of Portland, Ore.; one grandchild, Brayden Severson; several nieces and nephews; his brothers-inlaw, Tom (Ange) Larson and Maurice Larson; sister-in-law, Charlene (Kirby) Miller; and his half siblings, Paula and Pam Porter, Lise, Georgia and Katie Johnson. David was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Lillian; his brother, Don Nedrud; his half brother, Tim Porter; his daughter, Jessica Nedrud Renville; and his beloved dog, Bigfoot. Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Home 510 N. 12th Ave. in Pocatello with burial following in the Aberdeen, Idaho, Cemetery. After the services, the family will meet at the Elks Lodge in Pocatello for a luncheon. (Paid Obituary)

Luke Follet


Luke Aaron Follet Sr. (Wamni Gawjga), “Circling Eagle”, 44, died Aug. 4, 2021, at St. Alexius Hospital, in Bismarck, N.D. He was born Oct. 5, 1976, to Harry “Digger” Follet Jr. and Dorothy BegsHisOwn Follet in Wolf Point. He grew up in Frazer and attended school in Frazer where he participated in track, basketball, soccer and football. During summertime, he played baseball. He was a hard worker and worked at numerous jobs. He worked at Prairie Knights Casino for numerous years, in the deli at Albertsons, at Trinity Hospital for two years and for Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel as a groundskeeper. He is survived by his children, Lashae, Luke Jr., Annie, Abby, Ethan, LaQuincy, Lamont, Latisha, Patrick, Jasmine Follet, Gage and Boyd Miner; siblings, Harriet, Kerby, Blossom and Orlando Follet; and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Chris; siblings, Valerie, Cynthia and Patrick Follet; and special friends, Latoya Lambert, Jade Miner and Heather Jones. His funeral was held Wednesday, Aug. 11, at the New Community Hall in Wolf Point. Interment followed at Oswego Presbyterian Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.

Lavonne Sansaver


Lavonne Sansaver, 69, of Wolf Point died Aug. 4, 2021. She was born April 4, 1952, in Scobey to Arthur Erwin Nelson II and Ellen Marie Estenson. She moved to Wolf Point in 1961, where she married Don “Butch” Sansaver on Sept. 8, 1969. She enjoyed fishing, reading, puzzles and tending to her numerous flowers. She also enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Butch Sansaver; sons, Justin Sansaver and Shawn Sansaver; brother, Arthur Erwin Nelson III; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A celebration of life was held Aug. 10 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. A private family gravesite will be held. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.

Denise Rae Bear, Tazi Winyan “Baby Buffalo Calf Woman,” died July 30, 2021. She was known as “D-Rae” by many family and friends. She had a very strong personality. She was also very funny and was always cracking jokes and laughing. Her smile was so beautiful and could light up a room. She played volleyball and basketball when she attended Wolf Point High School. She graduated from Poplar High School, Class of 2001, with two babies. She had a very strong heart and was always a helping hand. She had many talents such as beading, sewing and making starquilts. She was very crafty and was also quite the cook and could throw down in the kitchen. She enjoyed going to powwows to watch her children dance and was a fancy shawl dancer. She also enjoyed going on car rides, listening to music. She enjoyed fixing her grandbabies’ hair, drawing and making designs. She is survived by her family, Alyssa Youpee, Azariah Bear, Joseph Bear, E’Marie Red Eagle, Jesse Youpee, Em’Brielle McClammy, Wilfred “Max” Bear, Cindy Jo Bear, Bryan Granbois, Debra Granbois, Sandra Sansaver, Ricky Sansaver, Dana Lezard and Cheryl Boyd and families. She is preceded in death by Harry and Mary Iron Bear, Betty Jo Iron Bear, Alfred Iron Bear, Charemain Iron Bear, Oak Iron Bear, Monique Belt, Amber Iron Bear, and Sandra Adams. Her funeral was held Monday, Aug. 9, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment followed at Chelsea Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
