Luke Aaron Follet Sr. (Wamni Gawjga), “Circling Eagle”, 44, died Aug. 4, 2021, at St. Alexius Hospital, in Bismarck, N.D. He was born Oct. 5, 1976, to Harry “Digger” Follet Jr. and Dorothy BegsHisOwn Follet in Wolf Point. He grew up in Frazer and attended school in Frazer where he participated in track, basketball, soccer and football. During summertime, he played baseball. He was a hard worker and worked at numerous jobs. He worked at Prairie Knights Casino for numerous years, in the deli at Albertsons, at Trinity Hospital for two years and for Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel as a groundskeeper. He is survived by his children, Lashae, Luke Jr., Annie, Abby, Ethan, LaQuincy, Lamont, Latisha, Patrick, Jasmine Follet, Gage and Boyd Miner; siblings, Harriet, Kerby, Blossom and Orlando Follet; and his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Chris; siblings, Valerie, Cynthia and Patrick Follet; and special friends, Latoya Lambert, Jade Miner and Heather Jones. His funeral was held Wednesday, Aug. 11, at the New Community Hall in Wolf Point. Interment followed at Oswego Presbyterian Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.

Lavonne Sansaver, 69, of Wolf Point died Aug. 4, 2021. She was born April 4, 1952, in Scobey to Arthur Erwin Nelson II and Ellen Marie Estenson. She moved to Wolf Point in 1961, where she married Don “Butch” Sansaver on Sept. 8, 1969. She enjoyed fishing, reading, puzzles and tending to her numerous flowers. She also enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Butch Sansaver; sons, Justin Sansaver and Shawn Sansaver; brother, Arthur Erwin Nelson III; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A celebration of life was held Aug. 10 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wolf Point. A private family gravesite will be held. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.

Denise Rae Bear, Tazi Winyan “Baby Buffalo Calf Woman,” died July 30, 2021. She was known as “D-Rae” by many family and friends. She had a very strong personality. She was also very funny and was always cracking jokes and laughing. Her smile was so beautiful and could light up a room. She played volleyball and basketball when she attended Wolf Point High School. She graduated from Poplar High School, Class of 2001, with two babies. She had a very strong heart and was always a helping hand. She had many talents such as beading, sewing and making starquilts. She was very crafty and was also quite the cook and could throw down in the kitchen. She enjoyed going to powwows to watch her children dance and was a fancy shawl dancer. She also enjoyed going on car rides, listening to music. She enjoyed fixing her grandbabies’ hair, drawing and making designs. She is survived by her family, Alyssa Youpee, Azariah Bear, Joseph Bear, E’Marie Red Eagle, Jesse Youpee, Em’Brielle McClammy, Wilfred “Max” Bear, Cindy Jo Bear, Bryan Granbois, Debra Granbois, Sandra Sansaver, Ricky Sansaver, Dana Lezard and Cheryl Boyd and families. She is preceded in death by Harry and Mary Iron Bear, Betty Jo Iron Bear, Alfred Iron Bear, Charemain Iron Bear, Oak Iron Bear, Monique Belt, Amber Iron Bear, and Sandra Adams. Her funeral was held Monday, Aug. 9, at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment followed at Chelsea Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
