Sister Mary Hourigan, OP, 87, died Monday, Oct. 11, at the Dominican Convent of Our Lady of the Rosary in Sparkill, N.Y., where she was currently residing. A full obituary will be posted in next week’s paper.

Anthony Mazawasicuna Jr., 30, of Poplar died Oct. 7, 2021, at Poplar Community Hospital. A wake will be held on Sunday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Poplar Cultural Center. Interment will follow at Fort Kipp Cemetery. Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

A district court judge in Yellowstone County has temporarily blocked the state from enforcing three laws restricting abortions passed by the Legislature earlier this year, issuing a temporary restraining order in the highly politicized case. Judge Michael Moses’ ruling came just before 6 p.m. Thursday, giving a shortterm answer to a flurry of court filings from the state’s defense team
