“COVID really started online auctions. We had to adapt to online. We had to adapt due to the circumstances,” Toavs said. “The online auctions are really changing the dynamics of live auctioneers. You don’t have to have the chant or go in front of people.”
He explained an online auction was a benefit for a truck company that had 450 items
Montana State Names Endowed Chair In Precision Agriculture
As Montana State University’s College of Agriculture develops new programming to continue training the agricultural scientists and producers of the future, a new endowed chair will oversee research and teaching focused on incorporating novel technologies into farming and ranching practices.

Smoker Named Walter Grant Recipient
The Walter Dean Myers Grant program has announced its recipients for 2024. Poplar’s Lori Smoker was named to a list of 18 recipients. The program was established to provide grants of $2,000 each to promising diverse writers and illustrators who are currently unpublished. Since 2015, the organization has awarded over 55 grants.
