Wolf Point resident Bill Juve continued to claim at Tuesday’s April 27 commissioners meeting that Roosevelt County Commissioners didn’t follow Montana’s meeting laws when commissioners approved a stipend for county employees during a March meeting. Juve said the item was added to the agenda shortly before the meeting, rather than the required 48-hours notice. He asked who made the decision

Executive Board Considers Firefighter Pay

Bureau of Indian Affairs superintendent Anna Eder gave her report to the Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board during Monday’s meeting. The wildland fire program reported that as of April 21 there have been a total of 31 fires. They are preparing for this year’s fire season. The program will be having its job fair, which started April 26 and will run until April 28 at the BIA fire hall. Councilman

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced April 22 that it will continue to reimburse schools and childcare centers for free meals provided to all students through the 2021-2022 school year. The USDA says it has granted a nationwide waiver that allows the serving of food outside of standard meals times for several of its child nutrition programs, including the National School Lunch Program

The Roosevelt County Library Board held its regular meeting March 13 at 10 a.m. Beth Hekkel, Gloria Mason, Helen Welte and Janet Livingston, Roosevelt County Library Director, were in attendance, as was guest Suzanne Reymer, statewide consulting librarian. The minutes from the Dec. 12 meeting were perused. Mason made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Welte seconded. Motion carried.
