A pair of workers with American Conservation Experience have been checking trails and outdoor recreational facilities from Malta to Medicine Lake in recent weeks. The pair are tasked with checking trails throughout the region, including Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and other Mountain West locations. Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte has come out against a plan that would change water release from the Fort Peck Dam in order to benefit the endangered pallid sturgeon. The draft EIS identifies and compares several alternatives and outlines in detail, the preferred alternative for assessing test flow capacity from Fort Peck Dam, to promote growth and survival of pallid sturgeon during the free swimming
